A Fond Farewell to Cindy Carter

A Fond Farewell to Cindy Carter

The Freeport Community Foundation Board of Directors, staff, and friends celebrated Cindy Carter on August 29 in honor of her for more than 10 years of service, committed to the needs of the nonprofit communities of Stephenson, Jo Daviess & Carroll counties.  Her departure allows for her to devote more time to other areas of interest including volunteerism and travel.

Cindy joined the Foundation in February 2012. As office manager, Cindy assisted with a broad range of areas including accounting, human resources as well as managing the Foundation’s online granting system.

“While we are sad to see Cindy depart from her role in the organization, it has been an absolute pleasure to work with her,” stated Michelle DeHaven, Executive Director. “Cindy brings a wealth of expertise and professionalism to her work and we cherish the immense value she has brought to FCF in her more than a decade with the organization.”

Cindy’s life and work is a testament to her character. She is a graduate of Highland Community College where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College and was inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambda. Cindy also served on Highland Community College’s Alumni Association Steering Committee and was honored to deliver a commencement speech to the HCC Class of 2007. In 2007 she was a recipient of the Highland Community College Distinguished Alumnus award. Cindy is also a graduate of the Freeport Civilian Police Academy and is a member of the Freeport Art Museum.

The Freeport Community Foundation bids Cindy a fond farewell and looks forward to future opportunities to work with Cindy within the community.
