How to Apply

Grant applications with all required items must be submitted by 4:00 pm on the deadline date for funding consideration.

Freeport Community Foundation makes it easy for you to apply for a grant online.  Please read the instructions below before beginning an application.  All FCF grant applications should be made online unless otherwise noted.

STEP 1. REVIEW ELIGIBILITY, GUIDELINES & DEADLINES

Each of the funds making competitive grants has its own guidelines for eligibility, application and deadlines for submission of proposals.

A few of our funds have rolling deadlines; most accept applications only at certain times of the year.

Please read the guidelines before applying.

STEP 2. CREATE AN ACCOUNT:

https://www.grantinterface.com/freeportcommunityfoundation/Common/LogOn.aspx

Select one login email address/password to be used for all your submissions.

Provide the email address of the person ultimately responsible for the grant administration. FCF will communicate all pertinent information to this email address.

STEP 3. COMPLETE THE ONLINE GRANT APPLICATION

Your application can be saved as a draft, and when you log on again it’s easy to return to that draft, make edits, and submit the application. Each account maintains a record of the application history that you can access at any time.

STEP 4. FCF WILL REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION

Your grant application is reviewed by the grant committee. The committee’s recommendations for funding are reviewed by Freeport Community Foundation’s board of directors. During this process, our staff may contact you for more information.

STEP 5. FINAL GRANT DECISIONS ARE MADE

You will be notified by mail if your organization received full or partial funding or if funding has been denied. Decisions are typically made within 4-6 weeks after the application deadline.

Please go to our grant application page for further information and to access our online application system.

If you have any questions about the grant application process or the Freeport Community Foundation, please call the Executive Director at 815-801-3035.

  • The Foundation requires a follow-up report if your grant is approved. Note: If you have applied for and received a grant previously, additional grants will not be considered until a follow-up report from your previous grant is on file in the Foundation office.  Grant follow-up reports can be found online.
