The Freeport Community Foundation is a non-profit organization, 501(c)(3), guided by community leaders who are dedicated to providing financial solutions for current and future community needs through cooperative philanthropy.

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide for the well-being of the citizens of Freeport and Northwest Illinois by accumulating assets in the form of permanent funds and prudently distributing income from those funds to charitable organizations.

Matthew A. Marvin Community Impact Award

 Entry Deadline: Thursday, September 25, 2014 

Matthew A. Marvin was one of those special people who understood the value of being involved and who cherished the opportunity to generously give back to his hometown.   This award is given each year to someone, who like Matt, knows the importance of serving your community to help make it better. This award recognizes an individual who has selflessly served the community with vision, humility, dedication and enthusiasm.

The winner will be announced at the Foundation’s annual Fall Grant and Donor Reception on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Freeport Country Club.  Click here to download the nomination form. You may also call or email the Foundation to request a copy of this form.

Youth Advisory Council

The Freeport Community Foundation is proud to support the Youth Advisory Council! YAC was formed in 2009 and supported through generous donations from State Bank, Freeport Community Foundation, Jack Meyers, Freeport Culver’s  and Sunrise Rotary. YAC is a group of area youth who are dedicated to leadership and philanthropy. Foundation staff and Board members mentor the group and guide the group through the grant making process.

The Youth Advisory Council & The Foundation announces 2014 YAC Grants!

2014 recipients: Aquin Catholic Schools, Cub Scout Pack 832, RAMP, and United Way of NW IL.  The 2014 CARE Award recipient is Connie Gogel from Aquin Catholic Schools.  Ms. Gogel chose the Aquin Interact service club as the recipient of this award in her honor.
